New sample FME Workbench online

I’ve just uploaded a new sample FME Workbench to the FMEPedia. This one is about using FME to pull driving directions from Google Maps and writing the result to KML. The sample only shows a single route, but of course since it’s FME, it can be expanded to take a list of from- and to-addresses and to fanout the end result, so you get many separate KML files each for a specific route.

The sample can be viewed here.

And on a related note, I think the FMEPedia, as well as the active user community around FME, is a really great asset. It is, in fact, a thing I often look for when deciding on whether or not to start using a certain product. If there is an active user community, that’s always a good sign
